I started at the ceiling for what felt like countless hours unable to move. They constantly shot steroids up my arms. I couldn't feel anything. While that was necessarily a good thing considering the excruciating amount of pain I was going through, I still wanted to know what was happening around me. I lay desperate not knowing what came after this. I soon doused off into a deep slumber and woke up 11 hours later. My mom stared at me asking if I felt any better, how could I explain to her I felt nothing? After a couple of hours, I was better and the doctor diagnosed me with a large intestine inflammation. But my other doctor said a nerve in my stomach got shifted. I went through both treatments but none of them helped.
I had to take countless tests such as endoscopy, biopsy, CT scan, and ultrasound. Turns out the outcome of a 1.5 lakh bill and 3 nights in the hospital was many different allergies such as milk, egg, cats, dogs, pollen, dust, smoke, salmon, and wheat. Drinking milk used to be my life, there hadn't been a single day I hadn't had milk and I couldn't ever imagine my life without it. My diet was so restricted now but I also knew I had to abide by it as when it came to health no one has the easy road. At least the pain was over now.
Being in the hospital and eating hospital food made me realize so much that I haven't been grateful for and should have been. The fact that I received hot meals every day and had the luxury of eating whatever I desired was all taken for granted. Ever since I stepped out I've never wasted even a grain of rice because at the end of the day food is food and millions of people don't receive it. My only advice to you is that if you haven't realized the importance of food and a healthy lifestyle yet it is high time that you do. Don't wait around for some incident to spark and destroy everything and realize it within yourself now.
